Software Engineer – Optical Instrumentation – Oxfordshire – EO/IM279

Salary / benefits – Competitive salary dependent upon experience

Job Term: Permanent / Full Time

Job Outline:

A leading developer of optical imaging instrumentation is now looking for a Software Engineer to join their growing team in Oxford.

You will be responsible for designing and building software to power the range of microscopy instruments.

Working closely with business partners and customers you will develop an understanding of the customer requirements, and assist in product demonstrations and trade shows.

Working on both R&D and production systems you will support current software, provide feature updates and bugfixes.

You will also write new application software for the next-generation devices.

Implementing new features in device firmware, and writing new firmware as part of the research process.

In addition you will write tools for production.

Qualifications:

As the successful candidate you will hold a minimum of MSc in Physics, Chemistry, Electronics or a related subject.   Preference will be given to candidates who hold a relevant PhD.

Experience: 

You will have a proven record developing in C/C++ and Qt and embedded systems programming.

A familiarity with Linux/Windows/OSX and have experience with GPU processing (CUDA, OpenCL) is essential.

It is essential that you have experience with image processing.

Additional Information:

Candidates MUST be eligible to work and live in the UK. Copies of Visa and Passport will be requested.
