A leading manufacturer of precision instruments, is now looking for a CNC Programmer to join their facility in Cambridgeshire.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager your role will be to support the Manufacturing and R&D departments with the creation of new components for use in new products as well as process improvements. To promote collaboration and knowledge sharing between the team.
You will be expected to program, set-up and run a variety of manual, CNC machines and wire erosion to produce precision components from a variety of materials.
You will also ensure appropriate machining techniques and procedures are followed by the operators once the product is handover to the operators.
Working with the R&D and manufacturing departments you will support all machining related activities.
Ensuring the quality of products produced meets manufacturing drawing requirements you will use metrology tools to validate tolerances and finishes standards.
As CNC Programmer you will ensure the machines are running to their maximum potential/efficiency, and carry out preventative maintenance routines.
You will also ensure that all machining activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s safe working and environmental requirements.
As the successful CNC Programmer you will have previous experience as a CNC machinist/toolmaker and have worked with manual and CNC machine tools.
You should be able to understand engineering drawings and implement appropriate machining methods.
Ideally you will have previously worked with Fanuc / Haas control systems.
You should also have a core competency multi axis milling machines, creation of efficient set up and jigs and a working knowledge of CAD/ CAM software (preferably Solidworks and MasterCAM).
