A rapidly growing developer semiconductor devices and materials now requires a Failure Analysis Engineer to join their facility in County Durham.
Reporting to the Process Integration Engineering Manager, you will be involved in the design and integration of demonstrator projects, including LED, AMOLED, OTFT, EDA projects.
You will perform research on topics of interest, develop theories, and prove or disprove such theories by employing appropriate characterisation techniques.
Gaining an understanding of the product functions, product circuits, device structure and fab processes, you will design Experiment trials and conduct hands-on failure analysis activities.
To identify faults, you will perform DC electrical testing, circuit analysis/trouble shooting, fault isolation, micro-probing, de-processing, material analysis and failure duplication.
Analysis of device design, construction or material effects that could be improved will include the commissioning FIB analysis or other analytical studies.
You will also conduct statistical yield analysis of O-TFT devices using JMP software, investigating trends in the device performance.
Working with the team to develop and maintain appropriate process control methodologies using metrology tools to control and improve fabrication processes and drive improvement actions recommended from analysis results.
To ensure products meet customer requirements, you will also interface with customers and suppliers.
As the successful Failure Analysis Engineer, you should be qualified to a minimum of a Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Solid State Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science, and have significant experience in commercial cleanrooms.
Ideally you will have at least 5 years’ experience working in semiconductor cleanrooms within a failure analysis or yield role.
Through previous Semiconductor development / manufacturing experience you will have gained an understanding of materials analysis techniques including AFM, SEM, Interferometry and Surface Profilometry.
Candidates MUST be eligible to work and live in the UK. Copies of Visa and Passport will be requested.
Whilst based in Co. Durham, there will be occasional requirements for you to travel within the UK, EU and Asia. Therefore, you should be able to travel and stay away from home on occasions.
