A leading manufacturer of Semiconductor Equipment now requires a Lab Support Technician to join their Applications Team.
The main focus of the Lab Support Technician is to ensure the equipment is full functional and available for customer and sample demos.
You will be expected to keep the Applications Lab systems running to ensure that samples, customer demonstrations and development work can be carried out within agreed timescales.
To keep the Applications Lab running smoothly, you will respond quickly to emergency breakdowns; provide technical troubleshooting support; and liaise with Engineering, Senior Management Lab Teams, Technical Support and Systems Engineering to keep all involved up to date with any issues.
Where necessary you will undertake mechanical installations, modifications, upgrades, configurational changes and subsequent tests on a range of laboratory systems.
You will also ensure that all Lab Systems are kept in a safe state via planned maintenance and safety audits.
The Lab Support Technician would suit a time served Apprentice from a Mechanical, Engineering or similar discipline. In addition to your training you will have substantial relevant experience working in a similar lab / clean room environment.
As the successful Lab Support Technician you will have worked in a similar lab / cleanroom where you have been required to read and interpret mechanical schematics.
You should have hands on experience of technical equipment support ideally front-end wafer fabrication in the semiconductor or a related high technology electronic/instrumentation sector. And preference will be given to those who have proven experience working with standard etch, and deposition processes.
