A leading provider of machined parts for use within manufacturing, R&D, aerospace and defence is now looking for an additional Machinist to join their growing engineering team.
You will be responsible for assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for CNC Machines.
Working from technical drawings, your tasks will include the cutting of metal to precision dimensions and checking and inspecting machining operations against specified tolerances.
Working alongside engineering, planning and design teams, you will ensure clear communication channels are maintained.
Inspection and checking will include the use of CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine), Vernier’s, Callipers.
As a Machinist you will be working with a range of machines and operating systems including Heidenhain, Fanuc and Siemens.
Qualifications:
Ideally you will be a time-served Apprentice of Mechanical Engineering and have gained experience in machining.
Experience:
As the successful candidate you will have experience in all aspects of Machining, programming and operating CNC machines, Turning, Milling, Machining metal parts, Lapping, Polishing, Plating and Mechanical Inspection.
You will also be familiar with Electro Discharge Machining and Vacuum Coating.
The ability to read and interpret technical drawing is essential.
