A leading developer of photonic and optic products is now looking for a Mechanical Systems Engineer to join their growing R&D team.
This is an R&D role, which will see you involved in a variety of projects going forward. Initially you will be supporting new R&D projects and product developments, in Aerospace and Biomedical applications.
Acting as the Lead on Mechanical Design and Environmental Qualification of the R&D projects, you will be responsible for Product Design and Qualification.
You will generate concept designs by combining electronics, photonics and mechanics, which will include new designs for next generation photonic systems. Design work will include drawings of mechanical parts and assemblies suitable for manufacturing.
As Mechanical Systems Engineer you will develop thermal and vibration simulation models of the systems as they are being validated.
In addition, you will be able interpret simulation results, perform comparative studies between experimental and simulation results to identify and understand the source of any deviations.
The role will suite an experienced Mechanical Systems Engineer who is familiar with FEA, Thermal Analysis, Shock, Vibration, Thermal Conductivity, Simulation, and capable of generating test and qualification campaigns.
Your time will be split between simulation and generating designs, manufacturing drawings, BOM, manufacturing documentation, and debugging.
As the successful Mechanical Systems Engineer you will be qualified to a minimum of Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar Engineering discipline, which has included Mechanical Systems and Design.
We are looking for an experience Engineer who has have worked in a similar commercial product focused R&D role and has experience with 3D CAD Software such as SolidWorks. You will also have worked in thermal and stress analysis using FEA software.
