Process Development Engineer – Semiconductor – Manchester – UE/ET1038

Salary: Negotiable, dependent upon experience to around £40k per annum

Job Term: Permanent / Full Time

Job Outline:

A leading developer of organic semiconductor materials, new seeks a Process Development Engineer to join their Manchester site.

Your key responsibilities will include the characterisation of organic thin films, including mechanical, chemical, electrical and reliability testing.

To provide support to the Engineering team, you must be familiar with the processing methods and process development for Organic Thin Films, in order to develop the processes for OTFT development.

Processes to be developed and run include Spin Coating, Slot Die Solution Coating, Vacuum Deposition and Sputtering.

Utilising your previous experience and understanding of business processes, you will introduce new materials and organic thin films from initial development, through to release for supply.

You will be involved in new materials release processes, method developments and also design of experiments and statistical analysis.

Finally, you will also develop and transfer processes from the start-up environment to full scale volume manufacturing. 

Qualifications:

Ideally you will be qualified to a minimum of BSc level in Physics, Engineering, Organic Chemistry, Semiconductors or similar. 

Experience:

As the successful candidate you will have 2 or more years’ industrial experience in a Process Development role, gained within a semiconductor foundry.

Your experience will include process development, and testing, process transfer, device development and industrial / commercial scaled up manufacturing.
