Job Outline: 

EFFECT Photonics are an exciting and rapidly growing organisation, now seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to become a part of their expanding team.

Based in the picturesque town of Brixham, Devon, you will have both an internal and external role within the company, primarily dealing with suppliers, optimising costs and reaching Long Term Cost Down.

As a Supplier Development Engineer, you will also work together with the R&D teams within NPI (New Product Introduction) projects to ensure effective sourcing strategies are taken into account.

Duties include: The assessment of new and existing suppliers to meet product, cost, quality and capacity needs are fulfilled, researching external market information to identify potential sources and suppliers, and communicating with internal stakeholders to prioritise supplier development needs and requirements.

Qualifications: 

Ideally a minimum BSc or BA degree (Mechanics/Electronics/Business/Industrial Engineering) or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.

Experience: 

Preferably applicants should have approx. 5 or more years of experience in the field, with a proven track record in achieving cost reductions with suppliers.

An understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes would be advantageous.

Further to this, a strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
