A leading manufacturer of opto-electronic products now requires an additional Technical Support Engineer to join their rapidly growing team in Cambridgeshire.
As Technical Support Engineer you will provide first line phone and email support to customers, answering all their technical product queries.
In addition, you will provide support to the Engineering and global Technical Support Teams at all stages of the sales process, including presales, post sales.
Liaising directly with the customers, you will gain an understanding of their applications and identify solutions.
Working with the Customers and Sales teams, you will identify potential new product opportunities and customer improvements or upgrades.
Using your knowledge and understanding of the products you will assist in the building of product demos for tradeshows, and also replicating customer set ups for trouble shooting and training.
There may be occasional opportunities for you to attend tradeshows and customer visits.
As the successful Technical Support Engineer, you will have at least 2 years’ experience in service, repair and fault finding of optical imaging equipment. you should have good knowledge of electronics together with experience of scientific imaging technologies and/or opto-electronics.
As the successful Technical Support Engineer, you will hold Bachelors or Masters Degree in Physics, or a relevant Engineering discipline. Also desirable is a familiarity with opto-electronics, electronics, lasers, optics or optical fibres.
Candidates MUST be eligible to live and work in the UK. Copies of Passports and / or Visas will be requested for verification.
