A leading Manufacturing Site in Taunton is now looking for an additional Vacuum Coating Technician to join their Vacuum Coating Team to provide support in relation to Quality and Optical Preparation processes and production.
You will be required to maintain all tools, equipment and work areas so they are in a clean and tidy condition and fit for purpose at all times.
Taking responsibility for ensuring vacuum coating tooling and protective shields are kept clean and ready for use.
Once familiar with the equipment, you will prepare product for vacuum coating processes, and perform inline test of coating runs to ensure that they are within the correct parameter and tolerances to ensure specifications are met.
Using engineering drawings and work instruction sheets you will prepare the product for vacuum coating cleaning and coating processes.
Working from engineering drawings, schematics, manuals and Manufacturing Work Instructions you will assemble and clean components to meet the agreed specification and quality standards.
Using computer aided test facilities to perform standard or prescribed tests to meet specifications, as required.
Accurately complete production documentation in order to maintain traceability of product through the manufacturing process. This will include inputting data into the manufacturing data base and production reports.
You will also assist with Non Conformance NCR investigations to improve the efficiency of manufacturing processes.
Experience and Qualifications:
Ideally educated to 5 GSCE level C or above or equivalent.
Ideally you will have previous experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably with Vacuum Coating tools. Alternatively you should have a strong desire to work in manufacturing.
You will have experience working from engineering drawings and Work Instruction Forms desirable.
Preference will be given to candidates with a knowledge of vacuum coating processes would be advantageous but not essential.
The role is offered on a rotating shift, with the following working hours, offering a competitive base salary plus 25% shift premium:
Week 1 -Monday to Friday 6am-2pm
Week 2- Monday to Friday 2pm-10pm
