A leading developer of Scientific Instrumentation is now looking for a Test Engineer to join their growing Team in Cheshire.

As Test Engineer, you will be involved in thorough functionality testing of sub-assemblies and systems, factory sign-off, procedures components and systems build, and authoring technical operator manuals,

You will be supporting customers via phone, email and video links, and on occasions travel to customer sites for commissioning and performing user training.

For some systems, semi-custom elements of the build will require the development and implementation of technical procedures and coordination with other staff.

Key duties will include:
• Test systems and sub-assemblies in line with production plan and to meet output deadlines
• Practical work, including fault-finding and repair
• Organise and maintain test data and procedures, report writing and keeping records for traceability purposes
• Authoring technical operator manuals
• Day to day active involvement in post-sales support - email, phone & video
• Provide constructive feedback to other teams within the business
• May occasionally be asked to provide support for other colleagues performing servicing, installation and commissioning, both national and international.
• Ensuring quality control throughout all test tasks
• Use of electrical schematics and 3D models / drawings

Experience and Qualifications:

Ideally you will be educated to Degree or Masters level in a Science or Engineering discipline.

Previous work experience in a customer support, test, lab support or equipment support role would be ideal.

Preference will be given to someone who has worked with Scientific Instruments or Vacuum Systems.

Additional Information:

Candidates MUST be eligible to work and live in the UK, and travel freely in the EU without any restrictions. Copies of Passports and Visas will be requested for verification.

Candidates MUST hold a full clean UK driving licence.

It is essential that you are able to travel and stay away from home when necessary to provide support on customer sites.
